Can you teach at my company?
Yes, we provide on-site language classes. Please contact us via email or phone for rates.
What different languages do you provide?
We offer a variety of languages for the working professional or for people who just want to learn. We currently provide: Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, German, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese, Italian, and many more available upon request!
How long does it take to become fluent?
Fluency depends on the student. The more time a student devotes to study and practice, the more he or she will be able to comprehend. Learning a new language takes time and effort, but it’s worth it!
What do the phases mean?
Our classes are divided into three levels: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Each level is 36 weeks long, which are divided into 6-week increments called phases. Therefore, Phase I includes weeks 1-6, Phase II weeks 7-12, etc.
Are the books included in the price?
No, they are a separate price. However the book and CDs for Beginning Spanish last the student through Beginning Levels I - V, or the equivalent of 30 weeks.
How often do I have to purchase books?
Once every 30 weeks, unless you wish to purchase extra learning materials.
When do I need to sign up?
Sign up whenever you prefer. We recommend registering the week before class to ensure your placement. Payment is due no later than the first day of class.
How do I register for classes?
Fill out our registration form and either email, fax, mail, or bring by the form by our office.
Do you provide tutoring?
Yes, you may choose the hours and days for class.
Can I choose my materials for class?
Yes, most students who sign up for private lessons or tutoring usually have a specific linguistic goal. We can accommodate you with any specific materials you may want to learn (i.e. - Business Professional, Medical Professional, Dental Hygiene, etc.)
What does it mean when it says you teach conversational classes?
Conversational classes focus on being able to verbally correspond with a speaker of another language. Unlike high school or college language courses, conversational classes do not focus on grammar, but instead the fundamentals of verbal communication.
How long do classes run?
Group classes last for 1 hour and 15 minutes a day, one day a week, for six weeks. Private lessons are 1 hour at a time, at the student's discretion.
If I sign up, and then cannot attend class, can I get a refund?
Yes, we have refund policy that is given to each person after a transaction has been made.
What is your refund policy?
Arkansas Institute of Languages will issue a refund under the following conditions:
- If a class does not have enough students to continue (or this payment may be carried forward to the next session).
- If a student makes a payment for a session and does not attend any class during the session. The student must notify the registrar within the first week of class.
- Returns of unopened and unused audio, video, or books within 7 days of purchase.
